Random quote: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success." Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'm about to start up an order tank in order to change things up from the zealot/back orc I've been playing I thought I'd see if there was still a group playing from Verndari before I did so.

I know Dar and Fing and a couple others are primarily playing Order/Magnus. I don't think a Verndari chapter is official though. I have a KOTB I play on there when I wanna feel overpowered, going by Harcos

Well, the days of the KOTB being overpowered are probably numbered - but they aren't really so bad once you get into the 30s. Below that they are a beast

I'll look for one of you guys online once I decide what to play.

I'm leaning towards a tank (I really enjoy the Chosen) since there never seems to more then 1-2 out in the field, but I've also noticed a serious lack of dps from order over the last few weeks. Open RvR has turned into our guys rolling over the WP and BW with only the spare witchunter or lion-elf (can't recall wtf they are called) as so many people are trying the KoTB.

I love my Chosen, although I feel like I'm playing a bard sometimes lol. I think all sides and factions are facing the same thing, with the intro to BG and KOTB. Order on Ironfist still bring out some DPS, especially ranged, they seem to bring a ton of engineers and Shadow Warriors to ORVR.

I've only been playing 3-4 weeks now and the only complaint I have is the pets shooting through walls/out of line of sight.

We've been in Reikland for some time now, and maybe Order's just decided it's worth hunkering down. But it's tough to get people to actually siege any further into their lands as its a) so time consuming and b) there isn't much reward for it and they just go back to swapping keeps.

I'm still having a blast, but I'd love to actually see one side push into the city.

You guys should come play on Magnus. I know Destro pushed to a fortress this weekend and got owned. Earlier in the week Order did the same thing. Both forces were wiped at the fort. Destro was able to get the doors of the fort down within 15 minutes, but we were unable to get the lord because he bugged and was instagibbing people through the floor as bright wizards WTFAOE'd the room constantly.

Sep whats your toon name on Destro on magnus? What he says is true about the fortresses. It is beginning to pick up. Although the BWs werent AEing the room, they were like the rest of us in a 5 second slide show getting brief glimpses of the heros wasting the attackers.

My toon name is the same as it always is. Still Sepulchrum. I'm a 40 zealot in Sacrifice, which apparently order really loves us

I started a KoTBS over on Magnus, name's Uhrdeth. So far he's pretty fun, big change from my Zealot over on Red Eye.

I had to badger players into RvR over the weekend, but after vocalizing for an hour how f(&!ng sad it is that so many players were soloing in PvE rather then joining up to destroy a destro WB we were able to get some 25+ guys together and it turned into an all out battle throughout the T1 zones. At one point players were joining 'just so I'd shutup', lol.

In any case, it proved more fun then the PvP over on the destro side has been for awhile.

Thaed if you spend any time playing the toon, Im in Sigmar's Chosen. Look us up. SEOF and us really like to wreck destro's day.

Will do, I'm flipping between my zealot and kotbs just depending on where I can find PvP/RvR. T3/4 has been pretty slow over on red eye, but T1/2 has been pretty good so far over on magnus.

I'll touch base as I level some over there.

Wow! Sep and Hagar in this game too? I had my suspicions before but now I know for a fact that WAR is a sausage fest.

I just want to know one thing, is Fing the middle man in the circle?

Sep give Hagar a kiss for me <3

Well, I'd expect more chicks to play in a carebear-context such as WoW so it's no surprise the those producing testosterone might desire a more action-oriented game.

What are playing now days Valdi?

:P

sadly one wintergrasp on ANY SINGLE WoW realm has more population at a given time than all the keep sieges in WAR put together. It sucks but its pretty much the truth, I don't know why WAR isn't more popular, but I suspect it lost a lot from class imbalances and more from population imbalances. I used to think WoW was rather simplistic in having the same classes on both factions, but Blizzard seems to know about how to set up successful games than Mythic.

At T4 I've not run into any population issues - save for the server crashes when 100-200 show up at the same fortress to attack/defend.

It's good to see more PvP being focused on in WoW, a return to the days of TM would be highly enjoyable.

I'm gonna have to disagree with ya here Meda.

In regards to Population Imbalances, any game that involves one faction versus another faction will see some sort of population imbalance. You saw it in Planetside, DAoC and especially in the early days of WoW.

Class Imbalances, not really, I've played Destro mainly and a bit on Order, I can tell you I have seen pros and cons to each. That sounds just like WoW. Alliance on WoW was more defensive oriented and Horde was more offensive oriented. How many arguments flew in the Verndari Officer forums about Tactic A working for Horde because they had totems and Tactic B working for Horde because they had more DPS than Alliance?

WoW dominated the MMO market because it was horribly easy. A manic depressive chimp could play any class to max level in WoW and do it in less than a month. WoW has a massive PvE system, most now defunct and obsolete with each new expansion, just like EQ. WAR is focused on PvP, there is no real reason for in-depth PvE end-game content, just like DAoC.

WoW DOMINATES(hardly past tense) the MMO market because it is the best sum of all its parts and its brilliant inverted learning curve. Are there games hands down better at certain aspects than WoW, absolutely. WAR's PvP mechanics and design are superior(WAR is also closely modeled in level mechanics to WoW) WoW is extremely idiot friendly early on but becomes less and less friendly to the mouth breathers as the game progresses. I honestly don't think any end game raiding in any game is terribly difficult anymore due to the massive amount of info out there. What made EQ raiding seem more difficult than the current crop of MMO's was corpse retrieval and the limited info sharing, those of you that were in top end raid guilds will remember how closely guarded your strats were, but as for actual boss encounter scripts Blizzard has produced some of the best and most challenging ever.
