History
Verndari was created from jaded old EverQuest players who wanted to found a guild that was run by the members, for the members. Our birth was in the game Dark Age of Camelot, and since then we have grown and expanded to other games. We are now a multi-gaming guild and continue to grow and expand as other games come out.
Verndari is the Icelandic (said to be true Viking) word for guardian. This is a great description for what we stand for. Our guild name reflects our gaming nature; strong, proud, and ever watchful. A belief that an online guild is more than a group of individuals, it is a community.
A great guild must have two things. First is a tight knit group of people. They must be as close as a family and enjoy the company of one another. As well they must be willing to put themselves last before all their brethren. Secondly it needs all of its members to have common ideals. If we are not all traveling in the same direction, we will certainly fall apart, or get tangled up in petty squabbles. Bear these things in mind as you read our charter and guidelines below. Choosing a guild is an important decision, take the time to make sure the people and the principals both align with you.
Who We Are
Verndari is made up of players who look for a tough challenge. Competitiveness is the very air we breath but winning is not the sole desire. The easy road is not for us. Sure it is quicker, but it is the journey that we enjoy versus the short route. We demand excellence from ourselves, yet lend a helping hand to those in need. In any game we play, you will find Verndari members quickly rise to the games cream of the crop list. We do not boast and brag of our deeds. Praise is not what we seek; it is an inner drive to do the best we can in everything we do that fuels our motivation. In short, we are gamers in the truest sense.
Guidelines
Respect: Verndari does not believe in harming others or taking away their fun in online games unless they truly deserve it. Not only do we protect our own members in any game we play, we protect those who come to us for help. We tirelessly defend our reputation and always seek to remain a top notch guild of mature friends sharing a common goal.
Respect for...
Self: Hold yourself to a standard. Do not lower yourself through dishonorable actions, such as lying, cheating or stealing. However, whoring and wenching are acceptable and often encouraged.
Friends: Treat your Verndari brethren as your true brothers and sisters. Help whenever possible.
Others: Treat non guild members with respect. Never harm the innocent. You represent Verndari wherever you go, and must act accordingly.
Anti-Cheating: Verndari does not believe in using cheats, exploits, or any other illegal methods for gain. If it is an act that would get your account banned from a game, then expect to be expelled by Verndari. Never use anything that might give you an unfair advantage above others: duping, exploits, cheat programs, etc., even if you might fail without them.
Payment: Membership in Verndari is free. There will never be required charges for being a member. However, we openly accept help in the form of Website knowledge, and or guild database management.
Language: All members must conduct themselves with decorum. Every word you speak represents us. Be courteous to sexy women, avoid offending the ugly. If they tax your patience to the point of skull bashing, go drink a beer and vent your anger on a mob in the game you are playing. The use of profanity will not be allowed unless you know the Verndari female(s) present will not get offended. If someone asks you to stop cursing, you will politely cease.
Playing: No Verndari will ever pressure his brethren for equipment, help on level advancement and/or money with there first prime character in any game. We strongly believe in every member working hard to learn their characters Ins and Outs, so they may be deemed *seasoned* in all manners of play. If you are looking for a guild to power level you, we are NOT it. If you are looking for friends to join you in your adventures, be it a burning failure or a shinning achievement, we ARE for you. Failure to act in a manner that shows honor, courage, and dedication to yourself and your brethren can be grounds for beheading.
A Verndari member that fails to uphold our code of honor will be suspended and or expelled from the guild.
